USING RWGPS

Optional – Ride with GPS

PRE-REGISTERED RIDERS

We offer you the option to use Ride with GPS on The Dog! It’s so easy to join, even a house cat can do it. In mid-June and then again right after online registration closes we will send an email to all pre-registered riders with instructions and a RWGPS Invitation Link to the 2023 Dog Days Event Page. This will allow you to see the DRAFT routes, rest stops, and elevation. Around July 6th, we will move the routes to FINAL, and you can then safely download the maps and cue sheets to your smartphone or Garmin.

If you pre-register, join the Dog Days Event in RWGPS through our Invitation Link, and use the RWGPS mobile phone app, you can download the route to your phone, record your ride for review later, get visual and verbal turn-by-turn navigation announcements, view a map with your location, see up to 10 ride statistics (like your average MPH, distance left, the time, etc.), and view a cue sheet screen that adjusts to your location as you ride. You can also copy the routes to your Garmin. For a quick overview of the benefits of using RWGPS as a Dog Days Wine Tour participant, here is a helpful link with a video.

WALK-IN RIDERS

To use RWGPS on the Dog as a walk-in rider, you will need an account with RWGPS. Around July 6th, we mark the routes as Final. At that point, we will add the word FINAL to the Route names and move the Route Links to Public in RWGPS and we will include the individual Route links on this page.

If you do not pre-register, you will not get emails from us about RWGPS and you may not get all of the premium RWGPS benefits mentioned in the video above.
